James L Nelson is a prolific author of both fiction and non-fiction pirate books. Â All the way from Vikings through the American Civil War, he’s got some unique takes on how pirates affect the world around them.
Not to mention great storytelling and a deep knowledge of sailing ships. Â We’ll talk about his time on the Golden Hind after leaving the Hollywood grind. Â And how his idea of becoming a responsible adult was to become a novelist.
We’ll also get into this writing style and how he keeps the seafaring lingo to a level that even us landlubbers can understand and still keep everything really authentic sounding.  And we’ll talk about why he decided to tackle the subjects of a Confederate naval officer during the American Civil War.
This is a really fun talk with a guy who obviously loves the sea and the people and things that float on it.
