UTC 192 Rebekah Harris of Silverella

Rebekah Harris of Silverella

Rebekah Harris is the owner of Silverella, a nautical themed jewelry company based in Montauk.  I’m not even much of a jewelry guy and I want to get my hands on her works of art.  Really unique stuff.  And she’s got great stories about her haphazard hometown and the wilds of the New York diamond district.

In this episode:

  • What really sells a piece of jewelry more so than the actual gems and materials in it.
  • How she fell into the jewelry business
  • Stories of the New York diamond district
  • How a child kidnapped by pirates became George Washington’s right hand man
  • The super ironic name of her hometown
  • Why she moved her studio from NYC to Montauk

UTC 191 Treva Etienne of Pirates of the Caribbean

Treva Etienne of Pirates of the Caribbean

Treva Etienne played the pirate Koehler in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and can current be seen in Bosch on Amazon Prime.

To set the scene… I recorded my talk with Treva sitting outside a vegan restaurant in Hollywood just down the street from the Disney Studios.  Treva had an Impossible Burger and I had a some sort of iced tea concoction. And you’ll hear some traffic noise going by.

In this episode:

  • Growing up and learning theater in London
  • How he developed a backstory for Koehler
  • Acting as a team sport
  • The future of fame
  • The responsibilities of film makers
  • All the stuff he’s working on now
