Laura Nelson’s project is called The Whydah Pirates Speak. We’ve all heard Whydah stories from a variety of angles. So Laura went after the stories of the lesser players, the crew members, the characters you don’t normally hear about to add something new to the discussion.
Really good talk. We get into some of those stories and talk about the craft of writing the side stories around the big story.
Plus comedy from Dave Callans and music from Ye Banished Privateers.
This is the U2 virtual reality video I spoke about during the show. It doesn’t look like much in the player below of course. You’ll need to watch it with VR goggles to get the whole experience.

It’s a big fat juicy one today with two awesome interviews! We’ll talk with Mike Tunez of Firelock Games about their new pirate tabletop game Blood and Plunder. And he gives us the lowdown of what it takes to create a game of this magnitude and how they made their Kickstarter so outrageously successful.
On today’s show, things go boom! We’re talking with cannon and carriage builder Michael Elledge. We’ll dig into a bunch of history stuff on cannons and what it takes to simulate that now. Really interesting and entertaining talk.
