Cheryl Jones British Navy Cheryl Jones is one of those interesting people that will surprise you with the challenges she’s willing to take on. And while many pirates went on the account after seeing Pirates of the Caribbean, Cheryl took the whole thing way farther.

Plenty of good pirate talk and how she extended that interest into the British Navy. And of course, the funny story of how she and I originally connected. 🙂

Samuel Marquis author of Blackbeard: The Birth of America
Samuel Marquis is a prolific historical fiction writer and the author of Blackbeard: The Birth of America.

After a bunch of books about WWII, the CIA, and espionage agents, Sam turned his attention to the history of Blackbeard. Not only the facts and new research that have come out in the last few years, but what those conversations might have sounded like.

And we get a great historical fiction novel about Blackbeard that really takes you into Blackbeard’s head and onto the deck of the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Great storytelling.

Check out Sam’s book “Blackbeard: The Birth of America” and his other cool books below. (And buying them through these links helps support UTC too!)

And you can now see Arnon Shorr’s film “The Pirate Captain Toledano”! This award winning film is well worth your $1 and 10 minutes.
