Jason Surrell is a theme park show designer – former Imagineer, now with Universal – and the author of “Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies”.
He was deeply involved with adding the new film characters to the classic Pirates of the Caribbean theme park rides and we talk about how they did that to avoid alienating the hardcore classic fans.
We also get into what working with Johnny Depp on the set is really like, what X Atencio told him that made him nearly drive off the road, and how he got into trouble with Marty Sklar after writing the book. Â Tons of fun stories in here.
